I mean on a larger scale . I mean known throughout entire USA . My names Harold’s chicken . I know I grew up on black restaurants . Do I think they would let us get a chain or big box store ? No not really . Even if a group of black billionaires wanted to do something like that would be viewed as a threat and asked to work within the given system

there’s a lot of black owned restaurants in Seattle and Portland. it’s possible
All he said was crackas own ya publishing thats hardly a line drawn in the sand
It's literally his own your mastering/publishings rights talk he's been doing since his Prince sit-down like two decades ago lol
While also telling Drake he's picking the wrong battles with him and others while the battle that actual matters is the one he keeps ignoring, while turning Drake's "free me" (which Drake says this but then same breath tries to clown others) ish doubly towards him
Don't see how it's moral posturing at all lol - say what you want bout Jay Z but he owns his rights and can actively choose who to work with, a right he is suggesting is so important that others should focus on being able to do that too
He just clowning Drake and telling him you dodging your actual important battles, again
I could see this angle if he was the new spokesperson for target but releasing a vinyl with them isn’t that crazy or impactful
This doesn’t feel like he’s cleaning up for target or making anyone stop boycotting

It felt untrue to say he was dodging that battle when so much of Iceman was dedicated to that battle
this board has to be 99% white
Bold prediction there.

I mean major chain but I get you I’m not denying we own restaurants
I mean major chain but I get you I’m not denying we own restaurants
i mean most major chains were established in the 50s-70s and I’m sure you know why it’s taking a little longer, but massive wealth just ran through a lot of black pockets in just the last 25 years. the next 25+ gonna look a lot different. we can now be our own angel investors…in due time

What do you mean?
The battle for your music rights is beyond music and rapping about it isn't going to do anything, that's part of Jay Z's point.
This is legal and business work, not music (outside of releasing music of course).
It's also coincides with Jay's further point of "jig is up" of people trying to take his spot and/or be him. He is saying you can't be me when you can't even do what you want when you want like me (ie crackers still got your publishing) and that you're chasing s*** to get over on me that I'm not even worried about, ie. the chart breaking of Jay Z record, but Jay is saying he been off that and he's been worried about the charts that make him a billionaire aka stocks and finances - hence wrong chart champ (finance charts is the "real chart" he's competing in, not music) and I'm up 10 (10 digits in a billion).
He's saying you still a worker while crying to be the boss, you think competing with me when you're not even in the right room I'm worried about, and you will never be me while still thinking so small and fighting so wrong.
Not saying people have to like or agree but it makes sense and is consistent with Jay has been saying since WTT, and regardless, I don't see it as moral posturing at all. I don't even know how that's a thought regarding that rhyme scheme, unless it's another group of lyrics in the freestyle I'm not focused on.

I wouldn’t say it was moral posturing but some of the lines felt a little bit out of step or missing the mark to me
Drake is clearly trying to fight that battle, he’s suing his label and also has owned his masters since scorpion. He also released 3 projects which definitely has significance in his label situation. We don’t know what’s going to happen next but it would seem that Drake is either going to go independent or get an insane deal.
Also maybe I’m just too much a fan of the music but in the context of someone like Drake who could have Bs on the table idk how much the “worker” rhetoric really hits. Just because Hov doesn’t make music doesn’t mean he’s above it all, he’s still working with other companies like Live Nation for roc nation. S*** 4:44 is distributed by UMG he’s working for the same company as far as I can tell.
