Literally all three of them have

Their job is to submit the album to the label. Which is why they signed a distro deal. Jay made it his job to go beyond that, he chose to partner with Target for this release. More money.

Cole, Drake, and Kendrick all partnered with Target on their last projects man. Your profile picture sold 50 variants. lol, it’s a losing battle because they are all…capitalists (derogatory)

You don’t get it. Their labels forced them all to work with Target. They had no say in the matter whatsoever!

They are all big enough and profitable enough artists to stop a collaboration that they don’t want to be associated with. None of them are being forced to do anything they don’t want to do

You're naive to think these artists are bigger than the program. They have contractual agreements with corporations worth many billions lol.

I never said they even care about the boycott btw, I doubt they do. Jay is the social justice guy so he's rightfully getting flack for choosing to partner with Target.

Lady Gaga ended her partnership with Target. please refer to my post on the last page that stated this and directly contradicts your post lol. “The social justice guy” just sound racist idk how lol. they all do the social justice and walking back, often

Can yall please explain why yall think the boycott is still going in any substantial way?

It's not, they weren't even aware of it until this thread

Idk anything about the boycott. Obv people care about it tho or there wouldn't be any criticism to this partnership.

The criticism is coming from people who are entirely ignorant to the vinyl market right now

which is hilarious cause Bey and Taylor love each other and were overly glazing each other’s albums/tours in 2022/2023

  • Why did they bring up Bey

  • Roc Nation's PR cronies like breakfast club and Wayno are already trying to spin this 😂😂

Incorrect. The vinyl for $$$4U didn't release until May 2025.

vinyls take time to make so they wouldve already had the deal set.

    "she"

    she???

Deals can be pulled, releases can be stopped at any point, same way that press of his entire discography was cancelled back in 2023

  • If black people are boycotting target and Jay z puts his album in target, then who is buying the album?

You guessed it! Non black people. Jay z is exploiting the non black people.

Does the reverse exploitation make exploitation any better?

I missed this lol shoutout Godga.

Lady Gaga told Billboard that the meeting with Target officials was one of the most intense conversations she's ever had.

She had to fight because of contractual obligations. I already said I don't think Kenny Cole or Drake cared about the boycott, so why would they be fighting like that? There was no fight for Jay, he willingly shopped it to Target amidst the boycott because it would bring him the most money. What are you not understanding.

You didn't say that. You said that their job is to turn the album in to the label, and what happens afterwards with distribution is out of their hands.

There was no fight for Jay, he willingly shopped it to Target amidst the boycott because it would bring him the most money.

AKA the exact same thing every other major mainstream artist has done over the past 12 months amidst the boycott because Target is the #1 option for vinyl amongst major in-store retailers

Try being consistent more and switching goalposts less. Your original sentiment that you tripled down on to pushback against Drake, Kendrick, and Cole working with Target is that they had no control over where their music is sold. Gaga cutting ties with Target conclusively disproves that notion.

Cole did that whole thing with Even to the point where he had covert pressings to avoid leaks and still pushed his physicals to target. Like what are we even talking about lol

It started when you compared three albums on major labels to an album distributed by Shawn Carter / ROC NATION

Valentine highlighted how difficult it is for a signed artist to break a contract like that with the Godga post

  • 28 pages meanwhile Reasonable Doubt is still a fire album
