    I had a dream I ran Atlanta....

  • Apr 25, 2021

People been saying this for detroit for like the past 3 years and not one artist from there has actually become mainstream in that time(maybe tee grizzley but thats really it)

  • Apr 25, 2021

There is no new Atlanta, Atlanta always has and always will have numerous artists bubbling ready to come off the bench as well as guys that can hold down mainstream success

Detroit got a lot of young talent on the rise so I'm happy to see how things continue to grow there.

Far as being the #1 city in the game goes they nor anybody else is beating Atlanta any time soon

Obviously they not the new Atlanta from a popularity standpoint but from the standpoint of having an immense amount of talent, this deftly feeling like ATL. They have like 20 rappers I can name that are making some of the best rap of 2020-2021

A lot of your fav rappers are tapped in wit these boys cause they can tell these are really talented artists. It’s only a matter of time before drake and babyface Ray have a song or something like that

Mm nah it’s definitely too soon to say all that. Maybe I’m wrong, who big has really tapped into the scene like that. Minus Sean (duh) and Boat

I just looked up his streaming numbers to compare him to some of the other artists that been mentioned like sada, dugg etc wasnt expecting them to be that low in comparison. Hes by far the most talented imo

Saw he dropped a new tape tho so Imma check that out

In order to compete with Atlanta, you need capital.

Detroit has a great scene but it lacks capital.

If more music companies and major labels set up shop in the D though, Detroit could really pick up steam.

Shady Records isn't in touch with the current Detroit scene since Eminem's an OG who's pushing 50 so it'll take another label push to get things going more mainstream

Future was in the strip club losing his mind last year when paperwork party by Babyface ray came on. Plus non Michigan producers are starting to make Detroit beats. All the professional athletes been bumping them. Trust me, a lot of these rappers are tapped in

imagining a timeline where Motown never moved from detroit and they stayed the hotspot for black artists

  • Apr 25, 2021

labels are already tuned into the detroit/michigan scene and have been for like a year
