    Been a thread about this.

Comedy has sucked the last few years minus one here and there.

    2009 - 2013 was like prime.

    Everything the same s*** now

The Eric Andre movie, "Bad Trip" is the funniest s*** I've seen in years, but thats if you're into his style of comedy

    could be true

I much prefer dramedies with a heavy emphasis on drama

Comedic relief is alright but a full blown comedy is too much for me

Tried to watch Undercover Brother with my roommate and was intensely bored with it. I also can't go back and watch s*** like step brothers, hangover.
It just doesn't get me anymore.

I love the film critic who was watching Infinity War with his wife and said one of her notes was “This is gonna be fun watching all of these characters with the same exact little snarky personality try to all interact with each other.”

Wouldn't call this a comedy tbh. It had some funny lines tho.

    The accuracy

Real talk what I liked about infinity war was that the movie diverted away from the typical “happily ever after” type of ending

i think now we appreciate genuine funny moments from social media more than ever compared to artificially scripted jokes in movie

The era of Were the Millers-21/22 jump Street was pretty sweet

Those are more than 5 years old now lmao

They definitely have fallen off OP.

From the early 90’s to the mid 2010’s we were in a golden age of comedies. For the past 5 years though we’ve been in a major drought.

Look at 2007-2014 compared to 2014-now.

    2007-2014:
    SuperBad
    Knocked Up
    Pineapple Express
    Tropic Thunder
    Step Brothers
    The other guys
    Hangover trilogy
    This is the end
    Neighbors
    The interview
    Walk Hard
    Horrible Bosses
    We’re The Millers
    Observe and Report
    Zombie Land
    Funny People
    Zack and Miri
    Bridesmaids
    Ted
    21/22 jump street
    Bad teacher
    Due date
    The Heat
    Heartbreak Kid

Those movies aren’t all classics, some would debate if some of these are even good, but I’d say there’s probably 10 classics on there. In the past 7 years I’m not even sure what movies would be considered classics or even memorable really. I’m sure I’m overlooking some obvious choices but I’m not sure tbh.

  • Depends if you consider Uncut Gems a comedy
