bc losing his mom put him into a dark, depressed state, probably similar to his recent separation from kim / his family. the concept is to go from the darkness and find light in your life through other things, such as your children in Ye's case.

Yeah he trying to glue things that dont match, the dark clothes masks sounded like just another form of clown make up, a downgrade.
