that's weeknds new catchphrase. It's a pretty optimistic sounding, innocuous thing to attach spiritual darkness to. Morning star sounds like a massive reach
the low droning instrumental during the hook and bridge seems to me like obvious production choice because the strong instrumental would otherwise clash with Weeknd's voice. Also drives home the songs concept
and the organ is an instrument synonymous with churche/religion. I can't see how that's dark at all
if I could see anything bring dark, it'd be his late 2000s/early 2010s work,
