how long the stem player had been out is besides the point

he literally told the public you can’t listen to my album (which actually isn’t even an album) unless you spend 200 dollars and people ITT are defending it

let’s make this specific..if Drake tomorrow says

hey my next album drops Friday but you have to buy this new computer and it can only come from this computer

and thousands buy it and find it it’s Drake moaning on half the songs, empty verses, unfinished, etc

I just realized

this man made thousands of people pay 100+ dollars for a stem player teasing his “new album” that was pretty much all unfinished demos, and remains to be unfinished demos.

why is no one calling him out for this. he finessed hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars for unfinished music.

There’s a version available on the Stem Player right now. We’ve heard updated versions of the songs through snippets since that version came out. It will be updated and complete at some point in the future.

It's perfectly sound.

What's not sound is spending $200 on a music production gadget and cloud service in order to hear a single album — from an artist who has notoriously scrapped half a dozen albums and reworked released songs over the past decade — and somehow thinking that it doesn't include any risk on your part. And then crying about how you were """scammed""" because you rationalized the idiotic idea of spending $200 on a product you had no intention of actually using because it was the only way to hear a new album from an artist you care about.

Plenty of people decided not to spend that much on a device they had no use for just to hear the new album.

Paying full retail price for an unfinished game and downloading a day one patch that only fixes a fraction of the issues, with endless future patches to fix the rest, has been totally normal in the video game industry for about a decade. And you're whining about how you chose to pay what most people spend on two weeks worth of groceries, for a single album, because it's only available on a product that you won't even use otherwise.

The gaming community has been criticizing this practice forever tho. Including DLCs so you’re just capping. If this was acceptable Fallout 74 wouldnt have bombed like it did.
