The songs I hear outside dont tend to be on the billboard
Not taking anything away from Travis but outside commercial success the album made no waves
Edit: Drake verse did for alittle while tho
what are some other measures of an album making waves besides commercial success that you think travis didn't reach?
Come on now, it must be exhausting making these type threads not to mention seeing it on here always

Getting played in clubs, public spaces, radio
We all know songs that we heard everywhere at one point or another, gets referenced in other mediums Utopia is getting none of that
Isn’t it more realistic to think people wanted to hear what Travis had to offer after the controversy more then actually listen to the album on a regular basis?

i would say that going platinum, number 1 every week since release, selling 185k on your third week shows that people didn't 'just want to hear what he had to offer after the controversy' and that people ARE 'listening on a regular basis'
185k on week 3 shows that people are listening on a regular basis, no?
and i guess the clubs/public spaces radio thing is because the album doesn't have a hit. and i'd argue that selling as well as it is without a hit is a testament to the album and its listener base, not an indication that its somehow gone

If we compare the impact albums like ds2, TLOP, DAMN, WLR and more had
Albums that are still referenced to this day, compared to utopia
Those numbers mean nothing but more money for Travis and his label
KTT became such a disgusting site holy f***

Did WLR have an instant smash on day one? If I remember correctly sky took quite a few months to pick up, the album in general too. TLOP too, took a bit of a while, you have to give this album time too then if that's your argument.
It's been the best-selling album in the United States of America for one month straight
