but yea everything else about donda feels almost like a satire at this point in his career
it also hurts because the signs that this was gonna be a return to form, serious contemplative record were all there
and then all of a sudden days before LP1 it's like the album comes apart entirely and shifts away from being a record about mourning the death of his mom and his family to.... a mess
and not a creative mess
it just seems odd. part of it seems like it was hype, but at the same time las vegas listening party felt like there was at least creative direction for the record...
then it got sold to balenciaga after lp1 and became a several month long balenciaga campaign, all while being pushed as this competitor against drake's newest album
what sucks most about kanye being bad now, is that it's less his fault and more so a reflection of the state of art rn
artists are just antenna's for the society they're in and i feel like ye is probably the most sensitive to the time's we're in now
ah i see i see
i also need to check ur message but i have an unexplainable anxiety about checking my ktt messages bc theres a lot of u f***ers that are genuinely good ppl that care despite being total strangers and that scares the hell out of me!

Never understood when people said he was biting Ye but I revisited recently and it was so obvious lol I really don’t understand how I didn’t catch it before
From the cover, Marina Abramovic in the Picasso Baby vid, some of the song titles (Heaven, Holy Grail, Picasso Baby, Crown). Even his flow on some of the songs felt like he was in his post-WTT bag
Just seemed like a Ye album without Ye. It was a decent project but a lot of it felt uninspired
Why is this biting Ye? Jay was on WTT too, you know.
Jay was talking about art before.
Ye made an album called Life of Pablo years later too. If anything, Kanye is still on this vibe while Jay already switched.
I'm not defending this album. I just think this statement is wrong.

Well WTT sounds more like a Ye album than a Jay album
Biting sounds harsh but the aesthetic and some of the themes def feel Kanye-inspired

Okay, that's your opinion.
Just remember Jay was calling himself Jehovah and God MC since 2001.

1% of a billion more than niggas ever seen
Still they wanna act like it's an everyday thing, clean
i used to play Beach is Better in high school when i was walking from class to class perfect length for it
Classic
It felt like the most expensive beats money could buy but idk it felt awkward and lazy
Like hov didn’t quite perfect his laid back “I made it” aesthetic.
Felt a little forced on the artsy side as well(yes I know, hov was into art years before he grew his hair out)
Yeah the cover was so cringey lmfao clearly trying to hard to seem artsy
I'd really say MBDTF knockoff in regards to being such a bombastic project complete with real art direction. WTT bridged the gap more on an image level with artists dressing more like larger-than-life figures. As well as the obvious collab album concept which I'm sure you don't need me to point out. It's just that I count MBDTF and WTT as very familiar projects since parts of their creation ran together.
So with that in mind MCHG is in line with Watching movies with the sound off, Born sinner, Because the internet, and plenty others.
u trippin
From what i remember it begins good and then becomes trash towards the end

FUTW
You could just tell Jay didn't have any true motivation on that album
Why does every song have to be a deep dive tho?
