and then all of a sudden days before LP1 it's like the album comes apart entirely and shifts away from being a record about mourning the death of his mom and his family to.... a mess
and not a creative mess
it just seems odd. part of it seems like it was hype, but at the same time las vegas listening party felt like there was at least creative direction for the record...
then it got sold to balenciaga after lp1 and became a several month long balenciaga campaign, all while being pushed as this competitor against drake's newest album
what sucks most about kanye being bad now, is that it's less his fault and more so a reflection of the state of art rn
artists are just antenna's for the society they're in and i feel like ye is probably the most sensitive to the time's we're in now

WTT bridged the gap more on an image level with artists dressing more like larger-than-life figures. As well as the obvious collab album concept which I'm sure you don't need me to point out. It's just that I count MBDTF and WTT as very familiar projects since parts of their creation ran together.
So with that in mind MCHG is in line with Watching movies with the sound off, Born sinner, Because the internet, and plenty others.
