the jury is unable to reach a verdict on count 1 (RICO) so the judge is gonna tell them to deliberate until they reach a verdict.

It's almost 5:00pm EST so i I think they'll just end it today and reach a verdict tomorrow

Combs' Agnifilo (after conferring with Combs): Yes.
Judge: OK, email me your proposals, each side. I'll wait. I could give a modified Allen charge, or at some point I could tell them they could return a partial verdict. Email me, I'll wait

    what does this mean

    what does this mean

A modified Allen Charge is when a judge tells a deadlocked jury to keep deliberating and try to reach a unanimous verdict (without giving up their honest beliefs).

A partial jury is whhen a judge lets a jury decide verdicts on fewer than all of the counts it has to decide.

    What are those counts again?

    Count 1 - racketeering enterprise
    Count 2 - s***trafficking of Cassie
Count 3 - transportation of Cassie or other people for prostitution
    Count 4 - s***trafficking of Jane
Count 5 - transportation of Jane or other people for prostitution

    May get verdict soon

  • Jul 1, 2025

If I was on the jury, I'd feel like the state didn't prove some of the charges but he's a piece of s*** anyway so I'd say guilty Like there's nothing directly linking him to the s*** with Cudi's car but it's obvious he was involved

In the well of the courtroom, everyone but Donaldson is in their seat, waiting. Sean Combs is leaning back, his legal crossed. He does not look happy.

Judge: I received each side's proposal. Mr. Agnifilo, your proposal, there is not much there.
Combs' Agnifilo: We are not remotely at the place where the jury needs more to deliberate efficiently- they are remarkably efficient. They already have 4 verdicts

  • Jul 1, 2025

Judge: I wouldn't call the Governmet's proposal an Allen charge. It reminds the jury of the instruction I previously gave, on the duty to deliberate. I could simply recite from the jury charge

    Uhhhh

Someone smarter than me needs to explain how do you have verdicts on 4 counts but not the rico when the rico essentially includes two of the predicate offenses?

Combs' Agnifilo: We're not at the point yet. I'm not saying we wouldn't be at the point on Thursday July 3 or Monday - let's wait and see. I'm putting stock in that they have reached verdicts on four counts.
Judge: I'm going with that, but I may gave more later

Judge: I could tell them that they could return on July 3, we could arrange that. What do the parties think?
AUSA Comey: We'd like to give them the option to deliberate on the 3rd.
Combs' Agnifilo: One second, your Honor
    Judge: Yes

  • The prosecution wants more deliberation

    The defense does not

Combs' Agnifilo: Our preference is that you don't tell them now about Thursday. The downside is that the jurors might feel rushed to reach a verdict to avoid the Thursday issue. Let them deliberate tomorrow, you could ask at the end of tomorrow

Judge: So the defense would have no objection to them deliberating on July 3?
Combs' Agnifilo: No objection, if they want to.
Judge: OK, let's bring back out our jury.

    Judge: All rise!
    [Jurors enter]
Judge: Welcome back. I received your note that you have reached verdicts on Counts 2 through 5. I ask you to continue deliberating. Discuss and weigh your respective opinions dispassionately and follow my instructions on the law.
