Black boy joy has to be the next logical evolution of the ‘image’ for mainstream black male rappers (and black male artists period). If rap stamped the burial of black boy joy along with the tradition of the covert Buck fantasy in American media’s representation of ideal black masculinity, and people are kinda over overly violent and macho portrayals of life in rap music…then black boy joy is the answer to that problem

The fact that the only rapper in 2023 to drop who’s in the “big deal” discussion is using positivity/pushback against negativity in hiphop as a rollout and even scored a #2 hit off of it is telling as well.
