You know you don't have too. If it has an address they'll still send it without a stamp
Damn I don't mail s***
I'm a fraud
That comment was conservative rhetoric to a tee. There's nothing wrong with companies making content that appeals to marginalized demographics. The intention of Disney executives may be to capitalize on trending topics, but thats business. I'm sure the writers and other cast and crew feel passionate about the topic and put their hearts into making something beautiful and inspiring.
To classify it all as "political correctness" "wokeness" "lib-bait" is to deny any means of giving those groups and their very real struggles a form of mainstream representation.
I never described it as any of the things you’re listing. Critiquing the cynical way capitalism operates by appealing to specific sensibilities as a distraction from real material problems is a basic leftist take. The idea that it’s just a bunch of good people with good intentions making good art is comically naive. I don’t think that company produces legitimate art anymore. They haven’t for over a decade. It’s algorithmic culturally hegemonic junk. There’s not a hint of sincerity in much of any of it. You’ll get a rare Coco here and there but that’s about it. It’s also just not worth making these points on here as I said to Lordie because many of you will just eat up any slop thrown in your lap and scoff at anyone who questions it as a raging reactionary. I don’t think there’s ever been a nuanced conversation on this platform. It’s much easier for you to reduce everything to “good guy rhetoric” Vs “bad guy rhetoric”.
Should have made her trans black asian middle eastern to tick all the boxes
dude shut the f*** up
Got a fire idea to sell to Disney or equivalent but don’t got the contacts for it.
We all knew that one kid in class who always smelled like s***, no deodorant or showers, no consistent laundry, etc and they got bullied overtime right.
Well, what if that kid actually ends up being a superhero who use his terrible smell to defeat a villain. His rancid s*** smell saves the day. A straight comeuppance story.
Body Odor Positivity role model for people who smell like s*** everywhere

We can have the conversation, bro. Its all love.
I'm not the good guy vs bad guy type. I don't think conservative = bad and I don't think democrat = good, though I honestly can see why you'd interpret that from my response. Me saying it was conservative rhetoric to a tee was simply in response to you saying "..doesn't make you a generic conservative".
I do think, however, that each party has certain talking points they fall back on that are toxic to society and progression. And yea in conservatives' case, I believe their typical view on the representation of race, sexuality, gender, and body types to be harmful.
I understand the frustration that people have when they view the way greedy corporations profit off of the struggle of various marginalized groups. However, as you pointed out, those corporations have monopolized the media. So if a group wants to be represented to the masses and have their stories told on a mainstream level, these corporations are a necessary evil. It feels these days theres no 'right way' for these studios to include diversity in their movies. Every attempt is written off as wokeness, lib-bait, Oscar bait, etc. Whats the right way to tell these stories?
Writers, crew members, and the actors voicing the characters in these movies aren't just Disney-owned robots. They're real people with their own motives and personal stories and experiences. They're less likely to be obsessed with the profiting machine like Disney executives are..because the executives have to be in order to please shareholders and foster continuous financial growth. This is why I said I believe theres still a level of care, inspiration, and passion that goes into telling each of these stories. Not from corporate Disney, but from the real people they hire to convey these stories.

I appreciate this response. You’re actually being pretty even handed about all this and I understand where you’re coming from. I’m just so used to dismissive reactions that I jumped the gun a bit. I think everyone being so chronically online has made people way too hyper self aware of the mechanism that create media and we’ve all become a lot more cynical whether it’s for good or bad reasons.
