DanhustWell yeah, didn't know she used to act, but she still looks nothing like the character she's playing so we back to square 1.
Some poeple won't mind it obviously, but a lot of people who grew up with Disney will. I think it will do good, but if it flops you have an excuse at least lol just blame it on the fans.

is that from a Disney classic movie that they are remaking? No, the Ariel we all know is.
And these remakes are pretty much carbon copies except for the cast. So why mak3 everything true to the original and then pick a weird cast? To get people talking I guess.

Something like Black Panther is heavily about race and skin color so changing the main characters race would be wrong then
The Little mermaids story has nothing to do with Ariel’s race so changing it shouldn’t matter at all
All these grown men complaining weren’t gonna watch the movie even if Syndey Sweeney was Ariel they just are trying to find something to be upset about

It matters when she has looked the same for decades. If you look at Pinocchio everything looks pretty much the same except one character, but I get it, they want people to talk about the movie, good or bad.
You think adults won't watch it? lol I watched most of the remakes and the only boring one imo was Dumbo.

Having a black princess means creating one and making some buzz. Or promoting Tiana which they don't do much. So you just make a white one black and the movie should sell and it already has buzz since everyone knows the character, but they also know she never looked like that though.
