some of y’all think that girl would’ve definitely killed the other girl for some reason. I disagree. but again, i’m black and have black sisters and black friends and have actually seen a black person get angry and people survive that. so i’m not as fearful of that situation.

Cops will shoot you 4 times or more to make sure they hit.

It goes back to the problem before. Do you want every Cop to have a gun or not
I dont want every single cop to have a gun. American cops suck d*** and I want their gun usage heavily disincentivized.

Guns are meant to kill. You could argue shooting someone more than 2 times is excessive but when youre shooting irl with adrenaline pumping youre just shooting until you perceptually visualize someone falling down.

Arguing this stuff is just annoying because it operates off hindsight bias. What we would do after the fact. Where we have the luxury of not dealing with, not being under that pressure, and full awareness of context.

I'd rather force cops to rely on tasers, pepper spray, and other methods and only require firearms in active shooter situations instead of arguing why some Cop shot someone in the 1 second he had to react because he had a gun on hand

You guys are blaming the Cop for his reaction when it resulted in a life being saved.

The gun was the optimal situation here if youre goal is saving someones life from imminent murder.

Working retroactively in hindsight about how you would have done x in a split second situation where someone runs out with a knife is a waste of time.

Its just pondering a fantastical situation that may or may not happen instead of realizing the reality of the situation.

The cop walked out of his car, saw someone run at a girl with a knife and pulled his gun out and fired. Thats it, arguing about what he should have done is the biggest waste of time.

What you should be arguing about is if you even want every Cop to have a gun.

And for the self defense arguments. Running out of your home to stab someone intimidating you from the curb is not even remotely how self defense laws work in America. Whether it be Stand Your Ground or Castle Doctrine.

This is an unfortunate situation all around but this weird theatrical s*** people do is stupid.

We clearly just dont want American cops having guns because we'd rather preserve innocent life.

Why would you give someone the choice between a s***ty f***ing taser with an effect distance of 10 feet and subject to extreme deviation by wind and body fat that minimizes its effectiveness and then a firearm? Just take the gun away if you dont want them to use it and have a squad specifically for violent crimes.

Idk how youre going to blame someone for reacting with a firearm to preserve life instead of whipping out his kind of s***ty taser. If you want them to use tasers and be more creative, deadass, limit the use of guns on the force.

These arguments have been happening online in perpetuity. Its time for actual solutions to what the actual problem people have is instead of asking Cops to do dumb kung fu s***
