Today I was talking to my dad about USPS mailing and how sorting machines are being thrown away. I told him its more efficient to sort it by machine due to the technology. Gave him an example about how a family of 6 needs 3 horses versus 1 car (bad example. but it was to show how technology can be more efficient and require less people).
he looks at me and says "if you are trapped in a desert with a horse and a car and they break both down, which one do you eat?"
discussing issues with my dad always goes this way lmao, and yes he's college educated, minority, and a trump supporter. also he's buying a short shotgun soon incase antifa and blm breaks into our suburban ass house
sounds like your pops schooled you tbh
Your Dad is absolutely hilarious. Lighten up
yeah id be laughing if it was a joke, but he said it in a serious tone and didn't laugh after saying it

What’s his argument? The horse is more resourceful because it can double up as food?
I have so many questions. I understand how that can be frustrating to navigate and manage. My Dad and I have the same political alignment and our ethics and jurisprudence are similar
Thing is I feel sometimes college doesn’t really change your politics as much as one would think. I feel like most of your viewpoints are already set in stone subliminally when you’re like 18, but you don’t realize it yet. Unless something crazy, tragic, or huge happens that changes your life, It Won’t change much
Yeah. They mostly just watch news channels tho, so me and brother try to provide insight not shown on the news
lol
Yeah, hearing his arguments for why I need to vote for Joe Biden were so cringey he's a good person he even has a rescue dog!
I did but that's just cuz I was too lazy to write a name in and to get libs to shut up.

i think is argument is that even if the car is more efficient, if it breaks down you go back to the horse (sorting by hand) idk tho, he usually gives these metaphors that don't relate at all to the topic
never in my life besides the one time my mom came over and saw my MAGA hat lying around
she just asked why I have one and I said it's just jokes and that was that

i feel like my beliefs are set and i won't change them much in the future. he says when i get older i'll become conservative. i work and happily pay taxes even if its more than i want to because i appreciate and support most of the services taxes pay for

which one do you have? my dad has two of the black MAGA hats and my friends parents have the camo one lol
Me & my mom both communists so it's easy
yeah, he grew up in a communist country and left for the US. so, anything that have to do with communisim or socialism = the worst thing ever for him
