It's a real thing and every mainstream artist has to do it at some point. They trade eternal hell for fame, money, and fortune. Artists like Jay Z sometimes make hand signs in public as a sign they sold their soul

Wym
i moved to LA at the end of March
i stayed at this airbnb and the owner
and i had some spiritual conversations
he was telling me things about my life that only i or someone who has been watching me would know
by the end of our conversation
he invited me into his home
and he said "that's code... 😈"
there were some other people living on his property that i'm guessing took him up on his offer
but i got the impression that the selling of your soul actually means participating in sexual intercourse and giving up your body
lot of people have spoken out about that side of this thing
so i respectfully declined
gonna write a song with more details
but that interaction let me know that all this is very real
and a lot of people will participate in homosexual acts to further themselves
note: i have nothing against homosexuals
but even if i were gay i still feel it would have been a bad idea to just give up my body like that
gotta do this the right way

I think selling your soul to the devil is a figure of speech. When you sign away your creative rights, a major percentage of your income etc the label literally owns you. Those 360 deals are devilish in nature. Sure it’s the artists fault they sign, they need to be held accountable, but those manipulative label b******s know exactly what they’re doing.
I think the industry can strip you of your integrity in other ways - all cautionary these tales we hear of sexual coercion and unwanted advances from powerful people seem commonplace. Coercing someone to perform sexual acts is pretty devilish too. Some shady s*** is going on behind closed doors in Hollywood

It's a weird cross section of European folklore, Christian iconography, the racist classification of black secular music being "the devil's music", evangelical literalism, the business practices of nepotism and blackballing, and occult symbolism as a shorthand for rebellion against conservatism and "family values", ie "the establishment is overwhelmingly evangelical so devil = punk".
So no, but a pinch of yes but not in any way that you're thinking
this s*** is f***ing sick😭
he coulda been holding his s*** as a joke tho cause they cramped in the car

the things he told me about my life without having met me prior (which were true)
is what leads me to believe it was more than that
