I see a lot of people on here say Drake fell off artistically, hasn't made a good album in over a decade, etc. it's almost assumed as fact sometimes that he just can't make good music anymore.
I'll admit neither of those albums are classics, they're not going to be remembered as important parts of Drake's discog 10-15 years down the line. compared to NWTS or IYRTITL, it's a downgrade.
but are either of these albums actually bad albums?
Some people will think they're good some will think they're bad
Only song that I listen to from either of those albums is Away From Home and that's a top 20 Drake song
For all the dogs should’ve been like 12 songs max. Half the album sucks
Her Loss was genuinely great

if it was just the 12 best songs would u call it a good album?

I can see how some people would consider these albums bad from your own description. 'inessential' is not the worst critique possible but 'uninspired' is kinda bad and we're pretty much looking at that there
Both have good songs, but also have a fair amount of material that I have never had the itch to return to.
I think people are just sick of the Drake thing where the album is treated less like a collective idea, and more like just a bunch of songs.
