Genuinely have never understood the need for so much time away for 1 single-day holiday. My company gives us Christmas eve to New Years day off every year, and I just end up feeling more bored than anything. Seems like everyone is just lazy and content with sitting around all day. What do y’all think

That's true I actually like to stay a bit after work unpaid too because people keep taking days off and I like to help out the company over this period!

I mean not really, just wondering why you all need so much time off lol.

Also, it’s easy cookie points. Showing up to the office on christmas eve puts you on a fast track for promotion. People notice your dedication.

My company gives me a week off for thanksgiving, but I like to head up to the office anyway so I can dust my boss's desk and leave him sweet treats for when he returns

lol quite the opposite in my experience

It’s the fathers and mothers that show up the most, looking to actually provide instead of skate by

Can’t remember a time when my boss was “too busy” to reply to a work email. Cream rises to the top.

the previous role I had, we got from like Dec 23- Jan 2-ish off. Current place I'm at doesn't do that, so I gotta put in for being off Dec 22, 23, 26, and 31. Saved all my PTO up though so I'm good
