doot dootOne thing I’ve always found interesting, sort of related to this, is when songs were created for a previous project and end up on a different one
Like NMPILA originally being made for MBDTF and making its way onto TLOP
MJ used to do this a lot as well he'd hold onto a song for years before putting them on a album

Mark Moschinoi think the distinction that needs to be made is between sketching and drafting
When someone's sitting on a piano finding chords is that working on the new album? I don't believe so personally.
I just feel like at that level, you got a lot of quality that gets left at the table that is then used in different ways. like you might have a batch of hard beats from a producer and a stack of writtens you just gotta make fit on them beats on top of having your current album done on top of the joy of being done, it can inspire you to keep creating and stay in that mode

no i feel u, im just saying i think takes like op is talking about are ignoring process and levels to like what makes it on a song

a led zeppelin song called houses of the holy did not fit their album called houses of the holy so it ended up on the next album
