My thing is - I'm from Missouri and have conservative family, and yeah there are of course things we agree on enough that we can sit at the same table during thanksgiving.

But in terms of a relationship? Like that's too intimate.

In other countries I don't think it's as big of a deal because even a very right wing conservative in Canada would be considered a democrat in the USA

But anyone who treats their political affiliations as a key personality trait is a gigantic red flag. Lots of high character people vote differently
