Never heard one and can't wrap my head around it, saw one 2000$ one from Sennheiser and it's like a 5.4.1 system, I can't understand how the sound will jump behind me.
A quality sound bar completely S***S on a Bluetooth speaker. Especially if it’s paired with a subwoofer
I think the ones you are talking about emulate surround sound. They sound really f***ing awesome if you don’t have the space for a 5 point system.
Your house will literally sound like you at the club with high quality speakers

Yeah I love my soundbar even tho it’s on the cheaper side. Subwoofer makes a huge difference
Yes if it’s Dolby Atmos
Dolby ATMOS will get very close to surround sound. I had an ATMOS bar and it literally makes well produced music come to life.
A friend of mine got this soundbar surround system with an amazing subwoofer at his house. Never heard music in a better way.
you guys amazed by soundbars gonna have you head knocked off when you hear a proper setup lol. not even a super expensive setup is needed to easily out perform a soundbar

convienence of not having to run speaker cables and plugs is a massive advantage to the average user

And what is a proper setup in your opinion?
Amp and speakers and sub. As long as its not s*** tier it will own it. I have klipsch speakers and a cambridge amp and wharfdale sub, only "mid-fi" but kills any sound bar ive ever heard.

Ok, I’ll look into it.
Atmos does an incredible job with it tho, so it's not as good but if you just want 5.1 and don't want speakers everywhere a good soundbar with Atmos is a very fair compromise

If you have any hi fi shops around just rock in and ask for a demo.

Yeah this big time
yeh i didnt bother with surround i've only got 2.1 system speaker wirings pretty minimal one to each speaker and one to the sub, more setup for music than tv stuff but still out performs in that area
