I’m sure the smart thing to do would be trade in your old phone but I like to keep mine
Also, if it’s a big enough upgrade, I upgrade. I’m going from the 11 Pro Max to the 13 Pro Max and I personally think it’s worth it and I can’t wait for mine on Friday
I’m grabbing a 13 pro max in October, I have been using the same 7 plus since release charging port is finicky and battery is ruined now I have to have it on the charger all day at work lol
I will prob use that 13 for 5-6 years like the phone I have now
I usually keep my old phone for years until I can upgrade it.
I’ve had my iPhone 7 se since it came out and I’m overdue for a new phone. Great time to get the 13 then wait years until the 17
I'm still running my SE - on my like 5th year with it now. Just the perfect phone for me, don't know what I'll be getting after it runs its course.
I've only ever bought phones that had just come out and were the current generation, and I do it every 2 years on average
i definitely use my phone to the best of its capabilities except camera tbh
reading through so much and being able to multitask at extreme ease saves you so much time
Bout every 3 years is when I update, I’ve had my XR since it released and besides the battery life it’s still going strong, I’ll probably upgrade next year tho
I used to but not anymore
Ima ride my current phone out till it dies it gets the job done
3 year cycle the way. two years with apple care, replace battery at the end of applecare contract, ride phone for another year til a good upgrade comes
i dont mind spending money on the tech i literally use everyday damn near all day when im not working or doin school s***
The key is to buy the most expensive phone one year. Then, the next year, about a week before the new one gets announced, sell it for almost retail. Use that money to cop the new one and repeat. Practically free phone every year.

I think this is the last year the original SE is supported in terms of update. You're gonna be due soon since most major apps need the latest OS version to have the latest features.
I buy a phone every 3/4 or so years after my current phone starts to show it age. Usually never buy the newest device tho i stay a model or 2 behind because the value decreases so fast i can find great phones for cheap like my current galaxy note launched at $1000 i got one in almost perfect condition for $300 2 years later
