If you think about it. Wouldn’t every Spanish speaker start saying Americanx, Francesx, europex etc. ?
lmao yes but try telling that to twitter. mfs take Spanish 1 as an elective in high school and think they're educated about our culture. if only they dug deeper into the language they'd realize how stupid they really are
Moreso American than white specific
I've never heard/seen anyone say latinx idk and I am white and in america
maybe it's like more specific to certain parts of america??
It's hard, because Spanish can be tough for someone who's non-binary, as the language makes everything either male or female. So I get where they're coming from. However, simply being in America is a privilege to a lot of Latin people globally, so I also get why this would not be very high on the priorities list. But Latin American countries also don't have the best record when it comes to tolerance, for the same reasons...

maybe I just don't talk to enough people nvm sorry
My hispanic friends think it’s dumb as f***, and anyone with a basic understanding of Romance languages (or any language with grammatical gender) would know it’s dumb too
maybe I just don't talk to enough people nvm sorry
what part are you from?
How is it pronounced? "latin ex"?
I know in Spain people (twitter SJWs for example) try to make words gender neutral by ending them in "e" instead of o/a, for instance "latine". While to me it's stupid at least it looks better than the x and you can pronounce it.

Latin-ex correct. Ironically I haven't heard it in Spanish. Latin-equiz?
Isn't a better term LatinE rather than LatinX? I understand it's a term for non-binary latin/hispanic/spanish people no?

Interestingly have never heard this
It's an academia word. Mostly scholars and activist use the term.
yeah, first time i heard it was from my (non-white) professor during a health disparities lecture
