    bitch mob

i did the same as you, now i'm flourishing academically compared to my time in primary school. that break from schooling was crucial for my growth.

same happened to me. took time off and when I came back I hit the ground running
I don't have plans for uni just yet but the reality is we have way more time to decide than we think

  • Public School Reform is a lost cause. Any BLK person who CAN, SHOULD take their kid outta PSS n home school or send em to private.

K-12 was trash but I really enjoyed college

Once you have more control over what classes you take, it gets a lot better.

The social aspect of school is its greatest strength, but also can be its biggest challenge for some people.

It’s really an unrivaled social experience that you sort of take for granted as an adult.

I’ve talked about this before on here, but I hated school, especially high school at the time. However, being in University now, high school was fascinating. Elementary to High school are the only times where we will experience being to forced with the most unfiltered groups of society. As we grow older, the world filters out our social circle. You essentially need to be screened to work where you do and go to University where you do. High school was literally interacting with the most random people for 8 hours a day and the only deciding factor on who you interacted with was your zip code lmao

  • For me I didn't start appreciating it until after high school but for the most part I hated it. It took until my senior year of high school to have somewhat of a social life and it was GOAT because I was loner for a majority of my years in school. It showed me I could have been having more fun all those years if I didn't take myself so serious and didnt care what other people thought/viewed me, as well as not making small problems/issues bigger than they actually were. For most you won't realize how easy and carefree you had it until it's over. Enjoy the ride.

literally peaked at 14 years old (somewhat why i look at 2016 fondly)

thats when i had most amount of friends and social life

tbh 13 little exaggerated thats when i tried it for first time but it was more 14 & 15

since around mid 2017 i sorta fell off generally stopped getting invited to s*** and started to drift away with people since i get mentally drained usually talking lots people

School is a waste of time except when you wanna get in a field that requires a license. The needs in life is how to do basic math and reading.

    School is a scam

    School is a scam

I think tuition is a scam. But school can be so great bro. You get to meet people and stuff. Some schools have great spirit and the campuses have things you can get into.

I just wish it wasn’t so pricey . Yes, I think there needs to be a way for students to get into something they won’t end up dropping out of or change their mind. Or at least a way for them to be relieved of their debt if they drop out . But other than that school doesn’t have to be a scam. It’s really popular to say that

There’s around 1.5 trillion in school loan debt iirc, there’s around like 70% of people who have degrees in fields that have nothing to do with the jobs they get (if that makes sense, bad wording on my end). People were fed this lie of going to school = success, which is the furthest thing from the truth. Its not like the 80’s where degrees were essential, for example if you wanted to learn video editing back then you’d have to go to school. Now you can go on Youtube watch a 10min video and learn the basics. The internet has leveled the playing field. School is essential for jobs/careers that require that certification aka doctor, lawyer, engineer, and so on. You are 100% correct about the experience, college truly was one of the funnest times I’ve ever had. Dropping out was the greatest thing I’ve ever done though
