for their time their early works were absolutely brilliant though, don't forget that The Beatles helped massively shaping the entire idea of an album as a coherent unit in general, they grew into a time where pop albums have largely been compilations of catchy tunes as you said, they mastered that and went on to shape history

Im pretty sure the concept of an album as a cohesive piece of sound already existed though

No way, feels like I’m floating when I listen to that track.

I like when Paul’s the lead vocalist.

it absolutely wasn't the norm in that lane and pop music in general, even the Beach Boys were massively influenced by Rubber Soul

I dont see the appeal in most of their music. They got classics but the overwhelming majority just sounds boring to me. I’d rather listen to Miles Davis or coltrane. Or if we’re talking about Rock, Guns N Roses & Jimi hendrix. Theres no type of edge in their music. plus their stans cross over with rap haters, and cacs that still cant deal with autotune.

i know people that legitimately document every s*** lennon’s digestive system has ever produced. or every time yoko ono got cheated on . Is there a genome that allows you to get their music? Is it a complex mechanism that has to unfold during childhood? Or is it just weak ass c***sauce? Its some great movie background music though. Discuss

Whenever I hear Guns n Roses in consideration of the goats I think of ashy knees & elbows and a whole bunch of misogyny

Edge doesn’t make or break an artist, it doesn’t have to = great music

plus their stans cross over with Rap haters

Not more than the hillbilly ass pick you’ve rated above Beatles bruh lol. They transcended the genre, I see far more people in my world even til this day praise Beatles far more than Guns n Roses to say the least which pretty much embodies the “weak c***sauce” as you’d put it

There’s some good song suggestions itt, give them a shot g

5 genuinely good songs. The rest is either appropriated from black music or straight up trash.

Best marketed band in history though, I’ll give them that.

I didnt say they were Goats, but off top the G&R tracks i got i’d rather listen to than any beatles track i have.

My go to bands are Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Floyd, Radiohead & Hendrix Experience, and apart from those I don’t consciously listen to artists/bands like that. I have a decent library of tracks I collected that I just shuffle. Indie/Alternative/Folk I’m more invested in.

Maybe its my taste but beatles just never clicked. I’ll run thru the suggestions though

About the stans crossing over part, theres a lot more beatles stans out there so thats why their hatred n ignorance towards black music specifically rap and modern r&b sticks out.

How you gonna say the Beatles overrated when their music will be played 200 years from now

  • Jan 28, 2020
