2017-2018 is a reach Scorpion had like diamond singles
Like idk how many people it influenced but it was a def a culturally significant album
The “Toronto sound” is more of an R&B thing than it is a straight rap thing in my opinion
its really (especially retroactively) a bit of a mix right? i agree it's not necessarily hip hop which is why i said it's a crossover thing
its crazy Midzy is consistently one of the most shamelessly braindead posters on this site and they can’t even use the “oh it’s a gimmick” excuse like some other users
ive seen this poster just get proven wrong so many times and double down out of sheer stupidity, amazing
Sausage and pepperoni pizza>>
F*** it, throw some bacon on there too. I want as much meat in my mouth as possible
Yep. Easily too. After I had my first WLR listen I knew everything was gonna change. Then 2021 hit and everyone was rapping over WLR type beats. Even Drake
wlr was one of those genre changing moments same vein as something like 808s . maybe not as impactful in the long run but just in the sense that it happened and then everyone did it
2017-2018 is a reach Scorpion had like diamond singles
Scorpion was a 2018 release tho right. I think he’s saying since 2018 Drake hasn’t had as much influence on the young niggas as much as newer acts like Carti and them
These niggas morons lmaooo
Swear to god some of em like wally, campaign and Francisco or whatever gotta actually have bird brains
Scorpion was a 2018 release tho right. I think he’s saying since 2018 Drake hasn’t had as much influence on the young niggas as much as newer acts like Carti and them
I agree influence wise but idk if WLR was more significant than Scorpi Ting
I love both tho and f*** it I love you
@Elric got a weird age, why is he around?
At least I wasn't bumping I'm In It before my nutz dropped

Idk cuz usually when I hear people refer to the “Toronto sound” they’re referring to that underwater R&B s*** that Drake and Weeknd and them came up doing that you hear in artists like Tory and Bryson Tiller
not saying Drake was solely responsible for it, but there was 100% a period of like roughly the mid-2010s when every rapper was trying to also be a singer and also the whole like "toronto sound" was becoming a material sub-category of rap. It may not be as pronounced now as the opium stuff but Drake has definitely had some influence one way or another on hip hop/pop crossover
yeah but this is the whole argument right? drake had his time it’s coming and it’s coming to a close
The “Toronto sound” is more of an R&B thing than it is a straight rap thing in my opinion
The Toronto sound is just niggas saying "6 6 6 6!
"
Maturing is realizing less is more when it comes to pizza, thr gourmet/home made kind at least
Delivery pizza so bland you got nothing choice but to load it up to get some taste
yeah but this is the whole argument right? drake had his time it’s coming and it’s coming to a close
oh, i only came in halfway through the convo, i thought it was about if drake was influential at all, which he obviously was
Sausage and pepperoni is too much
there was actually a place that did spicy and sweet sausage under the cheese that was really good too
lil basil on top oooooooph
Drake’s career def isn’t over but if Scorpi was Thriller his next release will probably be his BOTDF
Aka Drake is dropping a remix album
wlr was one of those genre changing moments same vein as something like 808s . maybe not as impactful in the long run but just in the sense that it happened and then everyone did it
Yep. There was nothing quite like it at the time. What made it even crazier to me was the fact that he was gonna have Post Malone, Pharrell, Drake, Travis etc features and then scrapped all of that
I agree influence wise but idk if WLR was more significant than Scorpi Ting
I love both tho and f*** it I love you
I love you too brudda
But I kinda agree in that WLR not only influenced sounds but aesthetics
When people refer to the opium aesthetic they’re not just talking the rage beats but the niggas dressing all black and mad belts and zippers like they’re in a Final Fantasy game
@midzy
Nah nah nah, not this time nigga you following through
Oh s*** I know its serious when I gotta download the gif on ktt
