She not touching R. Kelly, who is definitely up there with the ones mentioned but I think she is in his hemisphere somewhere so close.

    ???

If the artists you mentioned are Tier 1, she’s Tier 1.5

More like Tier 2 because Taylor Swift is better

tbf its a lot harder for female artists to appeal to male fans on a broad level than vice versa

more black men love beyonce more than white men even liking Taylor (unless they're....yk)

    ???

I'm saying I think r. Kelly is next after those ppl mentioned in the op and that she is below him, so I guess she is close to them but not quite.

  • I feel like Prince and Stevie are on their own planet. It’s extremely difficult to compare them to other artists because it can become apples to oranges very easily.

Beyonce is a goat for sure and generational talent tho.

    Nah cmon lool

  • Mar 31, 2024

No but MJ also isn’t in that league

It’s Stevie, Prince, Curtis, Marvin, and Teddy and then maybe Mike

put any of those guys you listed in an empty room with a casio piano and they will put on an amazing show for you. idk if beyonce can do that

She can sing and dance her ass off in a really big room, aka stadiums so she’d probably do alright in an empty room

    Thread title still so crazy

Why is the former boy band member up there with Prince and Stevie..

Men love Aaliyah, Sade Erykah, Lauryn Brandy etc

    It’s all about the content.

Beyoncés music leans so feminist heavy it feels like it’s meant for men to not want to listen to it

Like it was engineered to turn men off to it

is beyonce scaring the bros music?

  • Mar 31, 2024

Hypothetically If Beyoncé played instruments and wrote and produced all her songs, would she be considered the greatest artist of all time?

  • Mar 31, 2024

    Hell no

prince and stevie don’t belong in this conversation at all because they are in an echelon entirely above like idek why those are the artists you chose lmfao like you’re grouping great musicians with pop stars, big difference. shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the stakes tbh. mj though? sure why not. not talking sales/commercial prowess here either, i’m talking about musicianship and artistry

    What a groundbreaking revelation

A prince stan downplaying MJs ability as an artist.. because he didn’t play guitar?

    “Musicianship and artistry” be fr

Prince was a different beast. He dropped constant heat for more than a decade, like back-to-back generation defining 'definition of perfect' albums like Sign o the Times.

BEYONCÉ was an 8/10, Lemonade a 9/10, Renaissance a 10/10 and Cowboy Carter also seems to be an instant classic (ain't listened yet)

She‘s dropping classics for over a decade now, after her commercial peak. That’s different from Prince, MJ and Stevie. Her run from 4 to Cowboy Carter is the best for a woman at least.
