Where of one them said that people can’t go into any communities culture and run it while in black culture it seems like anybody can come in and take our trends and blow up off it.

So do y’all think black culture should brave gatekeepers and is gatekeeping in general better for a community or worse?

Yeah we prolly should but at the same time letting niggas gate keep s*** always goes bad

niggas are too welcoming of other people into our culture, while they wouldn’t do the same. we basically move the needle. most people try to talk, dress, and imitate black people. if you disagree, cry.

So do you think we should gate keep to certain degree instead of the whole culture altogether?

Dr Umar doesn’t really fall under that, he preaches against other races interacting with black culture but has no real power and is just an influencer.

What’s a authority figure in other cultures then that gatekeeps

I don’t think one exists, western culture takes and monetizes anything ethnic

Gatekeep what, all cultures are so accessible now, gatekeeping won’t work.

You can’t gatekeep nerd culture, japanese culture, black culture, english culture ( idk what that is but u get the point ) ppl don’t care

Don’t think that’s necessarily true. Black people have found a lot of success by venturing into “other cultures” territory

I think that is one of the joys of have so many diverse cultures on earth. Many people are eager to see how outsiders take things in and apply their unique perspective to something unfamiliar to them.

Who are the gatekeepers in other communities

I mean. I get why one would want to. Other cultures even if accessible don’t fully accept black people till this day. Black community seems to be the only one where we let in outsiders to profit off our s*** while simultaneously disrespecting us . Not much they can really be done though

i feel like they're evaluating the situation the wrong way if they think gatekeepers are the reason why whatever black trends are being taken advantage of by others

Nah this cap. If you’re black and do some s*** within Japanese culture they’ll get on you for appropriating their culture. Most of these cultures are strict when it comes to what goes on.
