i mean thats buddhism. everything is an illusion/dream, including the experience of a self. theres no essential substance to reality
Nah that’s a misunderstood concept/interpretation from the West
to put it short, Buddha never said this existence isn’t real, but instead our perceptions of this existence is flawed. He never said there isn’t a self but instead said our understanding of self is false
there’s a huge difference even if it seems subtle
ok, fair enough. I apologize for the lack of tact.
still, that doesn't affect the validity of what I said. if someone states that their book and god are "correct", by implication everyone else's are imaginary, aren't they?
Technically, yes but, other religions worship and belief is real which is all that matters.
i can wish you peace, love and respect since those are universal emotions. not a mythology built on intangible belief.
clearly you are incapable of separating one from the other.
in the same way you described any genuine religious belief as "unironically big yikes" it is obvious your wishings of peace and love are not genuine, i would be surprised to find any genuine conviction emotion belief thought honor principle or code in you as this is the antithesis to the soulless modern drone who "finds his own meaning" by just consuming the elective identities presented to him by capitalism

what the absolute f*** are you even talking about bro LMAO
the fact that you actually think not believing in god means someone can't have any convictions, emotions or principles is utterly f***ing laughable.
you literally sound like a fanatic. take several seats and try to believe in the humans right in front of your eyes, instead of in your gods who may or may not even exist.
I’m not religious at all but imo any religion that teaches to hate another group is a bad religion
That being said I don’t blame others for wanting/needing to believe in something to help them survive the day
So even if deep down you don’t believe in it, would joining it be wrong?
do you believe in loving your neighbor as yourself? thats what all on them are based on. Its just a matter of cultural choice at that point
If you actively reject God while having the opportunity to learn about him then you are going to Hell. Even if you’re a good person.
I’m not trying to debate anyone today but yes that’s a big part of Christianity
true, but not in the mystical way you are putting it
heaven and hell are states of being, not places. one can reject god and be in hell rn when they are alive
most of us on here do, and suffer because of it. look at all these miserable f***s on ktt
I don’t believe in religion at all but there are some religions where most believers definitely do think their religion is “correct”. Islam is one example.
Islam is one of the few religions that wasn’t “created” by humans. It’s the literal words of Allah transcribed without error by Muhammad.
Other religions like Christianity and Judaism have long acknowledged that their religions were created by humans after being inspired by figures such as Christ and Moses.
Love the confidence
You're not Christian then.
You're missing the whole point of Easter and spreading the good news.
to claim I'm not a Christian without knowing me is kinda crazy

what a nice man, banishing us to hell to burn for eternity because we didn’t study him
Depends what u dont believe in, i dont really believe in many of the stories told but i dont think they were written to be interpreted so literally. They contain pieces of guidance that are v useful even for someone non religious, like me
You sound like an idiot.
There are other books with better stories...
what a nice man, banishing us to hell to burn for eternity because we didn’t study him
everyone gets judged fairly bro but making the measure of god or even of a man how n-nice they are is pretty cringe

Did i denounce those other books? 🤣 just because there are other books doesnt mean i cant look into religion for more info

Everyone gets judged fairly, that’s between you and God

It's not about knowing you or not.
some of these fellas itt one step away from sipping the koolaid if told to
It's not about "sipping the koolaid" it's about faith.
