Well I have something for you. Just a little tip, a brush I invented to help you clean the washroom

All you need is a 3/8 threaded rod, 2 nuts, a drill (not an impact drill), a mini grinder and a toilet brush from the dollar store

Cut the threaded rod to size (clean the ends off so the nuts will thread!) and then put both nuts on tightened and flush with one end. You’ll then proceed to use your grinder to cut the top nut off to about 1/8 of an inch. I then tack welded the bolt of so it wouldn’t break off. I understand not everyone has access to a welder so this isn’t really necessary but certainly helps. After this, snap the handle off the toilet brush and drill a 3/8 hole in the center of the brush. You’ll then take the second but off, slide the brush on, and then out the nut back on and tighten it. Voila! Tub cleaning made easy. Put it in your drill and save yourself some time

Hope this helps guys, I’m just trying to make it easier on everyone 🙂

Marine Coatings aka painting stuff on ships like bilges and pump rooms. These spaces are dark and cramped and require a mirror to able to paint blind spots.

It's a long process I'll break it down.

Clean space of oil and dirt

Power tool paint to bare metal

Sand blasters blast substrate to give it a surface profile

Then painter's come in and apply primer and top coat

So basically know how to fight and prevent rust

That sounds kind of sick. I’ve always been interested in boats, planes, etc. Must be cool to actually be on the ship and see that stuff. I will say it sounds tedious. Are there chemicals involved or mostly just grinding and s***

I work on an aircraft carrier, the USS George Washington aka CVN73

    Lots of chemicals involved
For cleaning we use Alkaline, and another solvent I don't want name to clean paint.

Then it's scrubbed in and pressure washed.

Then we use alcohol or acetone to clean bare metal

Paint gives off fumes so we wear respirators and the like

Another chemical useful for combating rust is phosphoric acid, it's a rust converter however the shipyard does not use it at all for some reason
