My dog loves me

So it comes down to the act of fetching being self reinforcing for the dog

The act of running and catching the toy is what tells them to continue the behavior, and bring the toy back

Not all dogs immidietly get it but that's why

One of my dogs loves me. Everything is gated off in my apartment because of my daughter, so when the gate to my bedroom is open my dog will always run in and chill next to me. It's comforting.

The other dog is just skittish in general and mostly hangs around with my wife.

Never owned a dog or cat but it's so obvious Cats dont like humans. I really wonder why people get them.

Sometimes I catch my dog looking at me like it’s planning an attempt on my life

Dogs love me in general. Don’t know what it is, but they just love to play with me or run up for pats (even random dogs at parks).

My girl used to walk dogs for other people and I would tag along with her when I had time. Those dogs would love me and we would have a connection.

My cat loves me. I’ll come home from work and she will be playing on my bed waiting for me. When I do leave for work she has chased me around and demanded a hug for I leave the house. At night she cuddles on me and takes a nap.
