    No

  • Just flip them inside out & run it back like a pair of jeans

    We’re just getting started

Think of how far music came from … let’s say Edo era Japanese music to 1970s Moog records

I don’t see why that kind of jump can’t happen again when technology in music is new in the grand scheme of things

  • Jan 24, 2023

Humanity will cease to exist before that ever happens.

  • Jan 24, 2023

I used to think about this all the time as a kid

  • Jan 24, 2023

hell no, we haven't even scratched the surface. And also consider the fact that a rare number of artists even make it to the point where most people have heard their music.

Rappers will just link up with Afrobeat producers and spit bars on those beats.

UK been doing this since 2015

like what happens when every single possible beat pattern and combination has already been thought of and used

and every single sound has been sampled in every way possible

    what will we do

this is literally impossible to happen.

there’s way too many variables in question.

just open the simplest plugin you can think about and question if you used every parameter in it to it’s full extent.

now add parameter automation in the mix.

you’ll likely need to live a billion+ times just run out of ideias with how much tools we have out there.

No. Hiphop is so infinitely malleable from a production standpoint cause it’s fundamentally a few basic traits:

    • slow to midtempo grooves with syncopated kick patterns
    • punchy drum sounds
    • harmonic sections sampled from or based in funk/soul/ambient

You can never run out of new styles with this foundation. The problem really lies in “would there be motive for regions to keep making their new sounds now that the internet has killed the importance of regions?”

    Yep.

Niggas actually haven’t scratched the surface of what beats really could be and trap music is what makes niggas even think a question like this worth asking lol. The problem is the producers and rappers feel like they can only go as far as the other goes in terms of experimentation/flow/sound selection/etc. and Vice versa

I remember in like 2012-2014 because of how fast music changed from 02 to like 08 thinking that 2016-2018 would have way more abstract/new styles of beats than what ended up happening. No more experimentation in mainstream

They need to hurry up and drop whatever comes next after MPC > DAW > ???

Feel like it would have to involve VR/AI

We need that thought machine where your visions come to life

  • I'm more worried about music running out of notes.

MPC > DAW > MPC with DAW integration

MPC > DAW > MPC with DAW integration

An Image Line physical MPC made specifically for FL integration would change the game

  • Jan 24, 2023

Impossible, there's always something to be sampled

  • Jan 24, 2023

It doesn't matter lol people will still flock to remakes of I'm Blue in 2050
