I agree, drake was never on the throne as the best rapper. In terms of the most popular rapper he was on the throne, but right now I would say he has been dethroned and Kendrick is more popular within hip hop.

I dont think the quality of his albums post 2015 have been good enough for him to be called the best rapper. NWTS to IYRTITL was the time when he was at his best as a rapper, but Kendrick with GKMC and TPAB was the better rapper then.
Drake was more popular though and had the bigger hip hop hits.
