the main rep subreddit has like 500k users and probably a ton of lurkers lol
way more than i thought it would have tbh
I don't think fakes will ever become mainstream but I think the "inspired by" pieces will become more accepted. You can already kinda see this the SeF and From the First boots that completely rip off the Dior/SLP designs.
either way, we wouldn't know if they went mainstream because people would try hella hard to hide any fake fashion
I've been seeing a lot of fashion videos on yt that talk about knockoffs that play with the aj1/af1/dunk silhouette as the "next wave"
@op stay in music bro this you’re last warning
I’m a true fan of fashion man. Idc if it’s women’s clothing, sometimes I just like to sit down and peep old collections from designers and what not, haute couture or whatever. This s*** is an art to me
!
fr the only reason i've considered buying reps is cuz im poor
just get them. nobody is gonna notice anyway
I don’t personally care anymore because the sneaker game is f***ed, but it’s a relatively small demographic that cares about things that look like designer and also don’t care enough to wear fakes
yeah i have a bunch of Puma's i bought for like 30 dollars. Like the Fenty trainers were 50 dollars
The ones that buy reps aren’t true sneakerheads
There’s incredible diminishing value in that title
The majority of people buying sneakers now are not doing it to be a sneaker head, and companies give little and little f***s about this arbitrary culture that sneaker heads uphold. Being a real sneaker head in 2021 is like being a Marvel fan from the 70s up until the mid 2000s. Your culture is becoming extinct yk
You can’t hate on the bot/reselling game AND gatekeep the value of refusing to play Nike/Supreme/Yeezy’s games
Buying fakes, not something I’ve done mind you, is the only counter culture that could get designer back to a reasonable level.
Balenciaga triple S fakes are so bad you might as well spare yourself the embarrassment and not wear them at all
as soon as one seller gets shut down another will take their place, the demand isnt going anywhere so the suppliers wont either
There are certain people that pay the mods on r/fashionreps to post links to their sites. If you don’t believe me go to their subreddit rules and you will see they have a list of approved rep sellers. If a seller doesn’t pay for their name to be on that list, you will get banned for posting a link to their shop. So there are definitely some higher ups at least in charge of importing them to the US, adidas and nike just haven’t gone after them yet. The game is f***ed once those guys are gone though
Yeah that's a good point, the reseller business has really been on the rise. Know some ppl who think their big time when all they have done is lost money on GR shoes and pokemon cards
