    yes, up to the point that the artist's personal actions and works are too intertwined for me to enjoy it anymore.

    i.e. I can't listen to Sun Kil Moon after the allegations anymore because all of his music was about being honest about his personal life and feelings.

    I agree.

    I didn't live through his prime and I only really know him from the controversial aspect and people going "but he's a musical genius " so listening now feels kinda

    But he really is a musical genius. It's just weird to vibe to some of his stuff since I came into it knowing all the pedo stuff. It would be different if I was a 80s kid and listened during his prime. I'd have totally different viewpoint

    curious could you listen to the earlier stuff he did in Red House Painters? since its kinda different the level of personal life shown+so long ago
