With 4 apps being the main use for peoples source of news/conversation could we see a swing in people going back to forums and blogs for a smaller community setting where you can discuss and have a conversation?

Twitter now is someone doing a tweet and the comments underneath mostly bots saying absolutely nothing or a bot releasing the same tweet over and over again.

And if it isn’t that it’s usually hate speech or sex.

On here for example, you have a community of people looking to discuss and get opinions from others. It is a refreshing change from the usual.

I suppose you can get that with Reddit.

Reddit is full of bots now and has too many people for it to feel like a community unless you're in some super niche sub. And even then there are no avatars so you never really recognize anybody. So maybe.

I dont think so, most people are too dumb to realise how bad social media is compared to even a few years ago. Im sure the social media companies have spent millions if not billions of dollars researching how s*** and profitable they can make their websites without losing xyz people

to a degree, but the big SM apps will likely reign as they have for the last decade or so

These old forums are like the small town of the internet. An ol’ simple way of life that some of us still prefer compared to the hustle and bustle of the city slickers o’er there on social medya.

People like older tech and retro s*** so I could see some of this stuff coming back for that reason but I think more people will be gong to yearn for that early internet life

No discord killed forums, soon forums like this will be to expensive to run because of service being taken by bigger sites that involve larger caches.

I kinda like them being hidden away from everyone . I would hate for people I know irl to start using ktt2 tbh. I think all of us finding this small corner of the internet is like purposeful n beautiful cause it’s not something everyone knows about

Which i agree with but I don’t think a forum would get big enough where all your friends join in as well.

Discord is the closest you’ll get to forums
