Same, the magic got a bit over the top sometimes and threw me off a lil too

I loved it, liked it more on second watch I think

I do think that the movie would have had better reception (critically and commercially) if it had been done as a series instead though

Like, just the sequences that made the cut on this one could have been a 5 part series. Imagine the second to last episode being the forest shoot out, and ending with them saying they’re going to the overlook and having the shot of the hotel on the mountain from the gas station. Then the final episode opens with the sweeping shot that they snatched from the OG

Also as a series they could’ve done some other stuff that would be dope. Like showing D*** when he worked at the Black Spot and had a little Bill Skarsgard cameo

I think as a series people would be less upset at it being a sequel to a classic, more people would have watched it, the bar for quality would’ve been lower, the length would’ve been less of an issue and the story could’ve been even more fleshed out

I saw this last night and liked it a lot. That astral projection scene was crazy

underrated movie

Thought it was kinda dope. Then I heard about the differences in the book and thought maybe they shouldve went with that but still cool
