you guys are getting so worked up on comparison but don’t realize at any function with niggas, faneto, hot nigga & welcome to the party are the three automatic cheat codes, most niggas are dancing like pop & unlike those two other artist he actually had crazy crossover appeal with the ladies
his s*** still banging this summer and it ain’t cause he dead, the music and the movement were that powerful. pac obviously did a lot outside of music but no doubt pop was gonna be successful in many lanes and a voice in this game for a while
his music was used at protests last year too

Some people in this thread exposing themselves
Pop is a legend
From the perspective of 50’s legacy, yeah
Nope. Even Power has more impact on 50's legacy. Besides 50's cameo on The Woo, the album is barely associated with him.

The songs 50 put together gave it a massacre type feel to tho

50 was probably the best person to Handle this album. I don’t know what the backlash was about

It's typical newbies who form their opinions after listening music for 5 minutes.
Absolutely. Why wouldn't an executive producer get credit for an album, let alone a posthumous album?
No. It was going to be successful regardless
But obviously he deserves some “credit” for Pop Smoke in general seeing as how he was a huge inspiration.
(Credit in quotations cus I’m not meaning it in a 50 MADE Pop Smoke kinda way)
100%
he did really well with it. And promoted the hell out of it too
sadly it looks like hes not involved in the next one and i wouldnt expect it to do anywhere near the kind of numbers (or even be as good) as the last one
pop this generation pac. from overall influence on sound to fashion to dancing to quotes he will never die
He was nothing like pac
He was literally a clone of what 50 was (just without the longevity to go into other markets, for obvious reasons)

You literally described 50 there.
Even as far as music goes, Pac was way more politically orientated.
music wise pop was way more in the 50 mould with the hard/gangsta/party vibe, like 50 was
This was the first good posthumous album in more than 10 years that I’ve heard. Including ph albums from good artists. He definitely deserves credit.

Pop jack the 50 swag,
Bite 50 flows and samples
Obviously
It’s called being influenced lol
He wasn’t straight up biting whole 50 persona
No
Pop smoke already had a following with welcome to the party and his feature on the jackboys EP. He died as he was ascending he would’ve been just as successful if he were still alive
Lol 50 took a bunch of unfinished Pop songs and recruited the right producers and features to make it a good album. Listen to other posthumous albums and almost none of them sound near as good and polished as Pop’s does. People were gonna like it regardless bc Pop was the one but what 50 did was kinda incredible
