I don’t know it’s just something about the story and the weird yet still relatable vibe it has. The gameplay isn’t too bad too. Yes MGS 3 has better boss fights but I feel MGS 2 does everything else better. What ya think?
Kojima intended to end the series with MGS2. But after the reaction people made him feel like he couldn’t craft a formidable story again (because it was so ahead of its time) so he decided to go on with the already drawn out MGS3 and purposefully made it like an over the top but refreshing and replayable “Hollywood” type of game
To each it’s own I just think mgs2 and mgs5 both told a story through the player reacting to the world they get consumed by
1 > 5 > 2 for me
3 was alright but I have no desire to ever play it again. Same with 4.

I feel like everyone likes 5 is because it has the best gameplay in the series

Yeah gameplay is important in a game
3 > 2 > 1 > 4 > 5 for me
3 > 2 > 1 > 4 > 5 for me
Pw>3>1>2=4+5
5 is the best gameplay wise, but has to much gameplay and no 30 minute cut scenes
Whichever MGS I'm currently playing becomes my favourite one lol
Except for Peace Walker. Never liked that.

Sometimes the experience is more important. Last of us has average gameplay but it’s considered a goat

The whole experience in 5 was awesome to me
Loved Venom, Quiet, Ocelot, Koz, all those dudes were awesome. Played every mission, listened to every tape, etc. I loved that game. Just wish it wasn't left unfinished.
