You come off pretentious as f*** if you think the “underground” is the only scene deserving of respect and praise.

yeah, mainstream music is mainstream for a reason: a lot of people like it. some people see that as a bad thing and I think that's weird

that doesn't mean underground stuff is bad cuz people don't know it/like it as much, if you dig it that's all that really matters tbh

I understand what OP is talking about.

Mainstream music is low hanging fruit, designed for mass consumption and sales over artistic merit and things like that.

I can understand a adult not being so geeked out to listen to a new Meg the stallion, YB, lil baby or da baby song.

  • Jun 4, 2022

You mean the poptimist people who lord it over anyone who calls their music mainstream common denominator pop? Which it is lol

    Yes very

Idk what interview I seen, I feel like it was Beyoncé but idk but they said that upcomers is only tryna make hits and they can’t make albums. Which leads to being burnt out

Like im not saying liking things and stanning is bad but its just like I think back to my childhood and how into kanye I was for example and its like that dude doesnt know I exist. I love music but I find indie hiphop deserving more of stan culture than someone who has had everything they did praised for the last 10 years. You get what im saying? Its like if you really like movies you support smaller productions. You know if you really care about the art form. Instead of just debating how relevant drake is everyday. Im just thinking out loud basically

What do you define as small/indie? in terms of music
