so for example i go to bed at 1am etc then i sleep for like 5-6 hrs then afterwords i wake up and cant go back to sleep i am just lying there tossing an turning
what do you guys do to help yourself go back sleep when this happens ?
Beating in the moment is a temp fix
You need a lifestyle change so that you’re so tired you’ll just fall asleep easy
Sounds like everyday to me. Waking up in the morning after a somewhat full night sleep
1. Sleep (earlier) and wake up and a consistent time to get your body used to it
2. Don't eat in the 2 hours before you go to sleep, and if you do eat at least don't eat any sugar
This helped me fix my sleep schedule
just get up

I normally just browse my phone. If I'm REALLY not getting back to sleep, then I'll get up and read a book. What have you tried so far? and has nothing worked?

yes go to bed an wake up same times i do this since i work 3-11
2 is hard because i am diabetic, and if my sugar drops i gotta eat something with sugar

The second one is the opposite for me, my sugar levels are usually low anyway so if I can't sleep without something sweet beforehand
might have sleep apnea
what is the cause of that?
from what my doctor told me is that my blood sugars have been to high as of late an it could be causing it or i have not tired my body out so much to the point where i need 8 hrs
but also when i wake up after like 5 hrs of sleep or 6 i feel like i only slept 2 hrs
you need to go for a run or do something to get tired before you sleep
i have the same problem as you

i black out my room, cause a lot of times the room is a bit bright since it's morning, with the black out curtains, and then i usually turn on a white noise machine or like that low-fi thing on youtube like a gentle soft back round beat, or sometimes rain sounds on my phone and that helps quite a bit

ah okay only other thing i can suggest is to be mindful of the temperature and if you are overheating, i wake up and toss and turn a lot because i feel hot and/or the pillow feels hot and i can't fall asleep after

Straining to make yourself sleep often has the opposite effect because you're stressing yourself out. Do something low energy demanding, like reading a book or drawing. Meditating might help you get back to sleep but don't "focus" on trying to sleep during it, just relax your mind.
