I have no idea why my dad cooks poverty level food every f***ing day.

I came back from work and my dad cooked

HAMBURGER PATTIES and OVEN FRIES

Dont get me wrong, fries are good. But hamburger f***ing patties? Where the f*** is the rest of the burger?

I feel like people living in poverty eat better than this s***. He is about to be comfortably retired; so it's not a money problem - it's just some weird ass american boomer s***.

Whenever I come over I cook for him and he's like "Wow! this is really good"

And I'm like yeah. You should try f***ing following a recipe one time.

OP sounds mad, but I feel you given that my dad’s cooking is questionable. Really doesn’t help that he doesn’t believe food should be taking longer than 10-15 minutes to cook. Gets very pissy and will ruin your night if you god forbid, criticize his cooking.

Most of the time he prepares pre-cooked meals (Fried chicken, burrito) though he cooks pasta, chicken & rice, fish, etc.
