I know this another case of me being borderline autistic and overthinking simple human interactions

but it feels strange to text my boss things like

how was your holiday

whats good
how are you

and i shouldn’t. It’s a super casual job and the work is 75% remote so texting is a daily part of it. it just feels weird and semi-personal, semi-formal.

I’m sure I’ll get used to it, I’m not really looking for advice. Just wanted to see if anyone relates or not

No my boss is pretty cool but I definitely get the dynamics in play why you should feel this way. Just remember they’re really just regular people like you who have a life and interests outside of the job

I ain't texting my boss none of these things, man. I'm texting him if I need him, and if he just came back from a holiday I'll say hope u had a good HOLIDAY! I will not ask him how it went, because I do not care u know. Not through text at least. In person I'll ask how was it cause u know it's a better dynamic! I'll ask my coworkers how they are or how they holiday went if I'm CALLING or SEE them but I guess if ur remote I understand maybe just text them occasionally then

he basically sends a text every day if there’s work to do or anything to come in for. It’s not weird, but the “hey homie, gm how are you” text that precedes it has been throwing me off. Never had a boss like that.
