capitalism with built in stabilizers is the best system imo. you need some kind of competitive element to keep economic growth going but you also need to support people that are struggling in life.

When the USSR had a planned economy they had the fastest growing GDP per capita in the world after Taiwan, South Korea and Japan. Not saying that same model of central planning is the way forward, but it's not because of a lack of growth.

need a long-term sustainable growth model that does not cripple a large part of society. centralized planning is too dependent on the capabilities of a relatively small group of people i think. a technical meritocracy that is incentivized to maximize societal wealth would be great.

I think the problem with central planning is its inflexibility, that's why we need cybernetic planning
Chile was actually about to implement such a model in the 70s until the US overthrew Allende and installed a right-wing military dictatorship

sounds good af i actually have a degree in operations research. never really thought about the similarities between running a country and dynamic programming problems like that.
would make a lot of sense to be honest not in the least because you would have to clearly state your objectives and rectrictions.

That's dope
But yeah it's a way better system for automatic feedback and giant corporations like Walmart already use it for their own internal production

Paul Cockshott is a computer scientist/economist who's written a book about what a cybernetically planned economy could look like:

He also has his own youtube channel where he talks about this stuff
like have a politician state his election program in terms of model parameters
Yessir exactly, why should the economy be outside excluded from democracy like it is now
Capitalism is terrible for mental healthy in general. Creates all kinds of anxieties and personality disorders.

Capitalism? The same system that the ones who dominate the game are devoid of human empathy and are extreme sociopaths? Couldnt be

Define self-interest. If you tried your Instagram-culture "self-interest" bullshit in a hunter and gatherer tribe they would f***ing stab you in the back with the next spear or leave your dumb ass alone in the forest so you can fend for yourself.
Even in later eras your ideology wouldn't fly
because they needed to survive. that’s why they are
now a days we have all the luxuries in the world and we don’t need to farm and gather for 20 hours a day to survive
we work out 9-5, buy luxuries and then relax
idk about you, but i’d much rather the latter then former
imagine having to farm 18 hours a day

if you're so smart why aren't you taking advantage of capitalism is the question we should be asking you
its not about smarts, i know plenty of people who could be considered capitalist's who are complete idiots. and those people are where they are where they are because of nepotism as well as ruthless sociopathic behavior.
believe me, I'm taking advantage well enough. it's not difficult to succeed in a capitalist society. like you said, plenty of idiots manage it just fine.
people cry about capitalism for no real reason. idk if they just want handouts or truly believe inequality goes out the window without capitalism or what. that isn't true tho
there will always be classes, always be classism, always be inequality
