@RVI Brought it up. ZB does have that reach that I was thinking of from a transformative and cultural shift.
My ass was thinking about some country vocalist wearing a durag, boot drenched air force ones, and some ralph lauren apparel
just sanging over Hip Hop inspired beats (Think of how Neo Soul came about) but moreso bridging the old and new from the genre. With a plethora of other influences too and has the stage presence to match. A person with an urban aesthetic yet still feels authentic to the genre. That's asking for a lot lol

I'm down for that as long as it's him
Zach Bryan is the artist you're describing in the op
He’s on the cusp of something really great in his sound. I Remember Everything’s success gets me so excited for his next work. Kacey’s too tbh.
This is the closest I could find

This song in particular is what inspired Puff Daddy to work the Hip Hop Soul concept with Mary J Blige. An unofficial remix:

No I meant like was there an interview or something where someone brought this up? I believe you but just was curious to hear whoever said this speak on this

This is one of the articles that mention where I thought of it from:
andscape.com/features/how-diddy-reinvented-the-remix
They mention Ron G as an inspiration for P.Diddy's Hip Hop Soul concept but they failed to forget that Kid Capri was doing that too. Blends were starting to get popular during the late 80s and early 90s within the Tri State area(Specifically NY). That Kid Capri blend in Fall 89 was blasted everywhere and inspired other NY DJs to dive into it. Diddy being the Hip Hop head he definitely heard those mixes and applied that to his work with Jodeci & MJB
