She's really good with great versatility and a really well-curated visual aesthetic, plus she just got a feature on the new Tyler album, I think this perception on here comes from users not really checking out what female artists are doing so much

    what’s her aesthetic

I don’t know she wack though.

doechii reminds me of a couple of yrs back when little Simz got buzzy for a bit. not saying their music is bad but it definitely has a degree of cut thru with ppl who don't otherwise listen to hip hop, is seen as progressive/transgressive cos it's a woman rapping too.

what agenda exactly is being pushed with her? Why is it always some conspiracy when it
Involved black artist that get successful?

You know how many white pop stars literally show up and win tons of awards and do hella numbers and no one has this energy

I actually think what might be inorganic is the people pushing the narrative that her rise isn't organic lol. (NOT YOU OP, PEOPLE ON TWITTER)

money gets spent on stuff like that. it benefits her because when people hate on something thats actually dope, it galvanizes the people who like it to go defend it, and doing that usually makes them a bigger fan of said artist. hate marketing is actually super powerful. wouldn't surprise me if some smart people are doing that at her label

Doechii is rising in a time specifically where people are saying it’s time to bring back hip hoppity black blackity rap and stop supporting the They Not Like Us-es of the industry.

Is the support genuine tho? No. Why? Because people love the aesthetic of hip hoppity blackity rap but the numbers show they’re not actually listening.

Ab-Soul is on Twitter begging for people to stop ignoring him. That will soon be Doechii unless, of course, she starts shaking ass.

She’s probably one of the recent rises to stardom that doesn’t feel inorganic or forced. First heard her through her Isiah feature back on House is Burning and it was her first major moment and she had a good verse there. Sprinkle in a couple of features and co-signs from bigger TDE artist then her mini hit with Kodak in 2023 and here we are

  • Dec 23, 2024

Pretty sure her push is just tde putting money behind her and it seems to be paying off

Just because a label puts money behind an artist doesn’t mean the artist will deliver on that and bring back higher returns

Management wise the better convo is why does doechii work while the other signees most ppl never heard of and have little hype

Lies. Her last album is averaging more daily streams than for all the dogs.

    She already shakes her ass.

Again yall don’t be knowing s***. Just talking to talk.

“Rap so boring, it’s all the same”
New rapper comes in being different: “inorganic pushing an agenda gtfo”

its just a great push and hard work paying off over years time

Her fandom was already rising. Saw her at Coachella 2023 without knowing her too well (had friends who did) and she had a great crowd and performance. They also gave her main stage. If you keep it up with consistently you're gonna end up blowing up when the timing is right. This was her full project in years following increases success she was getting off of singles and an EPs from 2021-2023.

This isn't a process that started in 2024. It's part of a long effort and will continue with her debut LP next year

Like honestly tho whats wrong with pushing an artist? It's like people complain if you do it and it works and then complain if you don't do it and the artist never gets enough visibility

She's clearly talented, can perform and has star qualities. Whats the surprise?

Hope it only goes up for her. She might be opening for Kendrick/SZA too right?

I think you misunderstand what NLU means. It doesn’t mean “blackity black” or anything like that. No one would ever say future is NLU yet he makes the opposite of the music you’re describing
