No unfortunately, Tootsie Slide is the thing that comes closest. Drake lost a lot of his international allure over the last few years because of pandering too much to the US with boring ‘trap’ hits. He needs to get back on pop. And I say this as a Drake stan

I can agree with and understand Life is Good and Wait 4 U (even though Life is Good YouTube situation is mad sus)

But I’m really asking about songs where Drake is the lead artist

    My Turn

"citing Billboard stats and streaming numbers and platinum certifications as their evidence."

    well yes.

Drake has a big fanbase and a bunch of casual listeners that are constantly listening to his discography. Anything that he drops always get good streaming numbers and big peaks – that doesn’t make them big hits that are known by the general people

The average person out there never heard “Search and Rescue”, although this song charted at #2 in the first week

Just like Taylor Swift, another artist with a massive fanbase and casual listeners… she has a bunch of random songs that have massive streaming numbers and multiple certifications

    Are these songs big hits?

If I had to choose one, that’s probably the closest one for me. I love that song, but idk something about it just doesn’t feel that huge. It feels to me like people already forgot about and/or moved on from that song

It’s the one. It would be cool to see if another artist can drop one that’s even more of a classic

Taylor is another great example. Anti-Hero and Karma were big but I definitely wouldn’t consider them mega-hits because it doesn’t feel like they’re songs that everyone knows

Nothing in rap has kinda held lasting power this decade

The closest thing we have to that in black music this decade is Bad Habits (that’s kinda a mega hit)

I agree with this. It feels like the biggest rap songs this decade are either The Box or Just Wanna Rock (rap-adjacent)
