It’s huge but MEGA? That’s a different level (I don’t say Wait 4 U is mega either)
It just came out so we dont have the numbers to back it up but by the time this decade is over that will be one of the biggest songs that dropped this decade.
Drake has a big fanbase and a bunch of casual listeners that are constantly listening to his discography. Anything that he drops always get good streaming numbers and big peaks – that doesn’t make them big hits that are known by the general people
The average person out there never heard “Search and Rescue”, although this song charted at #2 in the first week
Just like Taylor Swift, another artist with a massive fanbase and casual listeners… she has a bunch of random songs that have massive streaming numbers and multiple certifications
Are these songs big hits?

Yall only acting like this cause it just came out relatively speaking that song is a mega hit bro it gave her a tour lmaooo
Idk, if yall put titi or blinding lights as key "mega hits", them s***s almost got a billion views on youtube
They're insanely massive compared to water sitting at let's say 145 million views on youtube
That's a hit, but it's not playing in the same ballpark as the other two you mentioned
I was fully convinced The Box came out in like 2018 that Covid memory real asf lol

In real life it’s a way bigger song than the certs reflect for sure
YO IF YALL NIGGAS SAYNG WAIT 4 U IS A MEGA HIT HOW TF WATER AINT?
IT WAS THE BIGGEST SONG OF THAT YEAR
to be fair its a different genre and most people on here probably aint heard it

Because relative to those songs it just came out.
Now whoever told her team the remix needed Travis Scott should be banished and permanently exiled from the music business lol

Ktt2 just type xenophobic to compensate that world music been taking over for a minute.Niggas swore titi wasnt gonna be one of those when it first dropped.
It’s the one. It would be cool to see if another artist can drop one that’s even more of a classic
Artists are usually deep in their bag (momentum) when they can synthesize a song like that. Sure you have your The Box's and Waters but what artists out right now have such musical momentum as Abel at the time of Blinding Lights? Exceptions aside, that's where the real mega hits usually come from

Right from mfs who have spent years building up to it. Weeknd and Max don’t get to BL without what they did prior
No unfortunately, Tootsie Slide is the thing that comes closest. Drake lost a lot of his international allure over the last few years because of pandering too much to the US with boring ‘trap’ hits. He needs to get back on pop. And I say this as a Drake stan
You mean the lazy Spanish on gently didnt do it for you?
There aren’t that many from anyone this decade so far let alone Drake tbh
Unless y’all are gonna just name any old song as a megahit lol

It did, but we can look back at sites that track views
The weeknd song had about 350-370 million in the time frame of 2019-2020, granted video dropped mid November
Bad bunny's song is even more insane considering that s*** almost has a billion after not even a full 2 years
Now idk if you just put those in the upper echelon or if anything else has to meet those same highs to get in the club

This is also another great point. Drake has turned away from pop-leaning singles this decade whereas on every album of his in the 2010s he always had at least one single that was either pop or R&B leaning (Find Your Love, Take Care, HOWGH, One Dance, Fake Love, Hotline Bling, Nice For What)
He hasn’t done that at all this decade, which is maybe another reason why his songs don’t have the same reach as they used to

I don’t really go by youtube views tbh i go by outside (music version of “eye test”) Both those songs get plays everywhere you go so yeah they mega hits.
Water will reach those numbers in views by the end of the year i expect. And even if it don’t I’m still calling it a mega hit cause it’s prolly gon be one of the biggest african songs to have dropped this decade.

The ✏️ has declined

draco on me... DWAYNE CARTER
Don't care nearly enough to dig into any data to back this up, but all his hits this decade feel super fraudulent like they'd hit #1 first week and it's freefall from there. Zero cultural cache or staying power.

interesting, so outside of the sales thread echo chamber people recognize the hits don’t mean as much anymore
