hip hop is younger than like a lot of people alive now. a lot of the sites user’s parents are older than hip hop.

its a very, very young art form and genre. so naturally the talent is going to be young. Also youth do tend to consume more music so there will always be a sizeable amount of artists appealing to those groups, either exclusively or as part of their demographic umbrella.

But there are painters who spent longer on a single painting than hip hop has been around. like in the sense they started it, left it for a couple decades, did added some stuff, forgot about it, found it a couple decades later and decided to change it etc. this s*** happens all the time.

my point is its a young genre so it doesnt have anyone really old in it yet, really. the old guard is almost all middle aged

Being older only gives you more time to practise and continue to improve at your art. But you can also isolate yourself, from your skills, and then regress. Espially after you have a comfortable amount of money. Thats not an age issue though. Thats someone giving up on learning.

in other words, yes hip hop does have an issue with age, it will always have a significant component thats youth oriented, like any music or art. But older people have the ability to excel well beyond their younger peers and previous works. and they certainly will.
