    ^wild bait

    It’s only bait to yall

It’s not actually a hot take that Drake’s music is up there with Ye, Dre and Tribe as some of the most impressive and important production and mixing in hip hop

There’s been so many videos on Drake’s vocal chain

It’s literally one of the reasons that So Far Gone was able to make such an impact and “sounded like an album” it was a game changer SONICALLY

This new album was clearly worked on meticulously and it just sounds incredible in every way

    All better

I will say i think the quality of the production here is better than IYRTITL. Like the actual sounds used and the mixing

That is a really dope album, I know common’s catalog front to back. I would probably go to Like Water for Chocolate before that personally but I get it

What iceman has in common with those is top notch sound quality from the beats to the vocals and a cohesive feeling to the music. Hard drums and bass with clarity on everything else

Post ya favorite song off iceman besides janice stfu

MBDTF far better beats but the mixing is like listening through a cardboard tube it’s so compressed the beats on Iceman are mixed incredibly well I do see what OP what is saying even if I don’t agree

Not that crazy, I like the fact there’s more soulful samples on Iceman than IYRT, it gives more of that classic drake sound while still being hard and rap focused. Both are monumental works of production tho

Yeah, this not a “best rap album” thread. We talking production, I love a lot of Ye albums, I was about to name Ye and 808s but they doesnt sound that crystal clear and cinematic nowadays . I also love Section 80 production but some of it feels a little stale now.

That’s not the best way of looking at it in the context of this discussion

When we talking better produced albums it’s more than just the beat selection.

The beats themselves on College Dropout are probably better than than the beats on Late Registration but LR is the better produced album because of the pristine sound quality and expensive feeling it gives

Okay then yes IYRTITL beats are better and songs like 6 Man, Star67, Now & Forever, Preach tap into special pockets

Yeah MBDTF not in this discussion it sounds like s***

When i realized the sound quality isn’t great it knocked the album for me a bit but it sounds equally great no matter if it’s wired earphones or big speakers which could’ve been the goal and it’s a choice engineers make

Either way the fact that arguably 4 of those albums are better production wise proves this thread is hot garbage
